What is Glutathione?

Glutathione is an antioxidant found in plants, animals, fungi, and some bacteria and archaea.

It is naturally present in the human body and depletes with age or illness, and is capable of preventing damage to important cellular components.

Damage caused by reactive oxygen species such as free radicals, peroxides, lipid peroxides, and heavy metals can all be repaired using this powerful antioxidant.

How is Glutathione administered?

It can be delivered directly into the body by an IV drip or an IV push.

These methods are preferred as a way of maximising absorbtion to gain the most benefit.

Either method is relatively painless with the Push being a faster process than the IV drip.

There are virtually no side effects to either treatment method and no lingering after effects.

How much should I have?

There are different quantities available and the required dosage can vary depending on what you need it for.

Our highly qualified Positive IV nursing staff will discuss your symptoms and health history prior to treatment to determine what dosage is right for you.

The quantities administered can be as high as 3600mg per treatment.

What are the Benefits?

Reduces Oxidative Stress

Glutathione will counteract the stress we pick up from the every day living. These stressors can lead to diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. Disease can occur when we have too many free radicals (the enemy) entering our body but not enough antioxidants (glutathione) to fight them.

Reduces Damage from Fatty Liver Disease

A study conducted on those with fatty liver disease (including alcoholics and non-alcoholics alike) were administered high doses of glutathione. Hepatic tests returned showing dramatic improvements in markers of liver cell regeneration.

Increases Fat Burning

Studies found that by administering high doses of glutathione to older adults, mitochondrial action increasing their metabolism. Researchers found these seniors were burning more fat and storing less with the intake of glutathione and this also improved insulin resistance.

Fights age related diseases

Glutathione can be effective in reducing signs and symptoms of diseases like Parkinson's by helping the dopamine function in the brain. Treatments need to be administered frequently over 30 days to gain improvement.

What does it do? Function of Glutathione in the Human Body

Glutathione is one of the most powerful antioxidants in the body, protecting cells from oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS).

It also helps in the detoxification of harmful substances, including heavy metals and environmental toxins. Glutathione is essential for the proper function and proliferation of lymphocytes, which are critical components of the immune system. Glutathione is involved in the synthesis and repair of proteins, ensuring proper cellular function and recovery from damage. It plays a role in the synthesis and repair of DNA.

Glutathione supports mitochondrial function and energy production by protecting mitochondria from oxidative damage. In addition helps modulate inflammatory responses, reducing chronic inflammation and associated tissue damage. Glutathione can influence melanin production, and reduce hyperpigmentation. Its antioxidant properties protect the skin from oxidative damage caused by UV radiation and pollution.

Things to look out for:

Glutamic acid = excitatory amino acid contraindicated in epilepsy.

Glutathione is a tripeptide including glutamic acid + cysteine + glycine.
